| Your First Visit
We are excited you are looking into orthodontic treatment! We know you may have a lot of questions, and during your first visit to our office we will seek to identify your concerns and answer all of your questions. Dr. Overby will visually assess your dental and facial characteristics to provide information concerning the nature of any orthodontic problems present.
Many patients are referred by their dentist to visit an orthodontist, but referrals are not required for you to schedule an examination. We make no charge for the examination.
Diagnostic Records
If you are ready to move forward with any recommended treatment, it will be necessary for diagnostic records to be taken by our staff. These records consist of facial and dental digital photos, head and jaw radiographs, plus dental study models of your teeth. After Dr. Overby has reviewed the Records and determined the best course of treatment, we will discuss the findings with you and you can choose whether or not to pursue the recommended orthodontic treatment .
Orthodontic Appointments
The day you get your braces on, you can expect to be in the office for a couple of hours. Rest assured, the appointments to follow won't take nearly as long - usually just 20 to 50 minutes. We will want to see you approximately every 4 to eight weeks for an orthodontic adjustment. The actual time interval needed can vary and will be determined at each appointment.
Appointment Reminders
We are happy to offer email and text-message appointment reminders! You can sign up in the office, or if you are a current patient, please visit the Patient Login link and register to receive reminders and check your account. Both patients and parents can receive these reminders.
Online Account Access
We are proud to offer our patients the convenience of online account access! This gives you the ability to check and confirm appointment times, keep track of your account activity, sign up for email or text-message appointment reminders, and even pay your bill online! You can sign up in the office or by visiting the Patient Login link.
Payments & Courtesies
We recognize that orthodontic treatment is an investment in a healthy Smile for Life. With that in mind, we offer a variety of payment and courtesy options.
To the best of our ability, we work with each patient to establish an affordable financial arrangement. We offer a Paid-in-Full courtesy for fees paid at the start of treatment, and we also offer a courtesy for those who sign up for automatic payments from a checking, savings, or credit card. And we do offer our popular Family Discount!
For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and CareCredit. We can set up automatic payments from your credit card or bank account, and you can also make payments online!
We also accept CareCredit, an popular healthcare financing program that is often used for dental and orthodotnic treatment. This option enables you to spread your payments over an extended period of time, and requires no downpayment. If you don't already have CareCredit, we can give you more information and even help you apply.
Insurance, Flex Plans, or Orthodontic Benefits
We are happy to help you receive the maximum reimbursement from your orthodontic insurance. We can file insurance and help you with the necessary documentation for Orthodontic Benefit or Flex Plan reimbursement. Please let us know what type of insurance or benefit(s) you have so that we can better assist you!
