What’s on your summer reading list?

With summer in full swing, some of us at Overby Orthodontics wanted to remind all our patients about the importance of reading. Sure it’s easy to keep putting off reading this time of year, but reading during the summer is a vital step in brain development and warding off the dreaded “summer slide.” Plus, it’s fun!

Today, we thought we’d ask: What’s on YOUR summer reading list? What are some of your all-time favorites? Out of ideas for great summer reads? The Austin Public Library has a free summer reading/activity program for kids every Thursday (check calendar for times, as they vary). The Rochester Public Library has fun summer events for kids on Wednesdays at 10am and 1pm. The Stewartville Public Library has summer reading events on Wednesdays at 2:00. You can also check out the list below for a few of the books that are on our team’s summer reading list.

Our Team’s Top Picks for Summer Reading:
Dr. Overby– A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving (for adults)
Taylor, Office Manager– Her Mother’s Hope series by Francine Rivers (for adults/young adults)
Shalona, Dental Assistant– Twilight series (for teens)
Trudi, Insurance Coordinator– Oh the Places you will go by Dr. Seuss (in honor of the graduates!)
Amanda, Treatment Coordinator– Junie B Jones series by Barbara Park (for kids)

Happy reading! Be sure to share with us your summer picks or your all-time favorites on our Facebook page!
